On this week

Everything is gearing up for the Christmas season. Some theatres are dark this week preparing their seasonal offering but at Cheltenham and Oxford the pantomimes are ready and open at the end of the week. The Everyman’s DICK WHITTINGTON opens on Friday starring Tweedy the Clown and Oxford Playhouse presents JACK AND THE BEANSTALK opening on the same day. Two familiar shows move on to their next venue, A JUDGEMENT IN STONE is at Bath Theatre Royal and DRIVING MISS DAISY is at Malvern. The only new play this week is THE OPEN HOUSE at the Ustinov in Bath. For ballet lovers, English National Ballet is at the Hippodrome in Bristol and the Birmingham Royal Ballet is at its home venue, the Hippodrome, for its annual presentation of THE NUTCACKER . . . .
