It is with great regret that the Cheltenham Everyman has announced the postponement of their pantomime for 2020. Jack and the Beanstalk, starring Tweedy will now be presented in November next year.

The theatre is working diligently behind the scenes to make sure that the everything is ready to welcome audiences back when they’re afforded the opportunity to return to full operating capacity. Booking tickets now will help the theatre towards that goal and ensure that they celebrate the new season with the full glitz and glamour that audiences have come to expect from the Everyman Theatre Pantomime.

As the theatre closure, due to the Covid crisis, has extended beyond six months it has become apparent that the originally planned production, designed for a full auditorium, would present too much risk. With strict social distancing measures now in place, and likely to be in place for the remainder of this calendar year, the scheduled production of Jack and the Beanstalk is untenable this season.

The theatre has recently run pilot a pilot performance presenting a smaller capacity production, with social distancing measures in place, and will be presenting further shows in the future. These shows will not mark a return to normality, but they will allow us to determine the viability of socially distanced events during this temporary diversion from our normal business. The Everyman remains positive that the New Year will see a loosening of the current restrictions and a return to full operating capacity.
