Back in (show) business! Everyman Theatre to stage top musicals and record-breaking comedy this Summer.

The iconic musicals Priscilla Queen Of The Desert and Hairspray are set to be the first shows to welcome audiences back to the Everyman Theatre this Summer with six weeks of spectacular productions.

The Everyman will host the national tour launch of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, followed by the international smash-hit musical Hairspray and the record-breaking comedy The Play That Goes Wrong when theatres open to full capacity audiences from 21st June.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert, will launch its nationwide tour at the Everyman Theatre, with a two week, non-stop parade of dance-floor classics from the 70s and 80s including I Will Survive, Hot Stuff, I Love The Nightflife and Finally!

The smash-hit show, produced by Jason Donovan and directed by Ian Talbot OBE, will open 21st June and run until the 3rd July.

Stepping back from the 70s to the 60s, the beat doesn’t stop when the cast of Hairspray bring their big hair and big voices to the Everyman Theatre stage from the 5th – 17th July. The irresistible, feel-good show is packed with hit songs including Good Morning Baltimore, You Can’t Stop The Beat and Welcome To The 60s as well as a still relevant message about the fight for equality.

Continuing the six-week re-opening extravaganza will be Mischief Theatre’s award-winning international smash hit comedy The Play That Goes Wrong. The global phenomenon, guaranteed to leave you aching with laughter, returns to the Everyman from 20th July – 1 st August, following two previous sell-out runs.

Talking about the first of many announcements for the new season, Mark Goucher, Chief Executive of the Everyman Theatre said: “We have all had a very tough 12 months. The theatre has been closed for more than a year and our staff have been desperate to return to the building and help me bring shows and audiences back.

“We need your support to help rebuild our business and enable us to provide Gloucestershire with the best shows available. This first announcement is fantastic for us and we hope to see everyone at the Everyman very soon.”
