27th – 30th September.
Chekhov as you may never have seen him. At his lightest, wittiest and some would say wickedest! An evening of three short plays together entitled ‘COMEDY CHEKHOV”. This production was originally created by the Bridge Theatre Company in Warwick and the company was so passionate about the shows that they are now reforming to present them at the Cheltenham Everyman studio from September 27th-30th.
The plays are The Proposal, The Bear and the wistful Swan Song. The audience can look forward to an evening of laughter, with glimpses of life on the big estates, and poignantly, in the theatres where these vaudevilles, as Chekhov called them, were performed. The three actors Richard Derrington, Mark Carey and Dani Carbury are all veterans of Bridge Theatre Company and all three have performed at the Everyman on several occasions.
The plays are directed by ex RSC director Alison Sutcliffe with sound by Andrea J Cox.
