31 August – 2 September
‘What do I know of love?’ Right. I know… it’s very important … for everyone to be loved… to feel loved. If people aren’t loved… things go wrong.
It’s summer in Bristol and in a minute’s time Orpheus and Eurydice turn eighteen. They’re standing at the edge of adulthood and at the edge of the Avon Gorge – the sound of late night ravers in the distance, graffiti, broken glass, the heat of excitement.
They’re head over heels in love. They believe they’ll do anything and go anywhere for each other. But will they go to hell and back? Soon they’ll find out.
A retelling of Orpheus & Eurydice as a cast of 100 take you on an epic journey into the underbelly of Bristol and beyond.
With the fragility of the human heart at its core, expect stories of joy, pain and temptation – oh, and there’ll be karaoke!
Written by Adam Peck (Olivier Award-winning A Monster Calls) and directed by Lisa Gregan (Make More Noise, Under A Cardboard Sea), with design by Anna Orton (Messiah, King Lear).
