9 August – 13 September
Gloucestershire based Jenny Wren Productions celebrate their 20th birthday open air tour with an inventive take on Shakespeare’s beloved romantic comedy Twelfth Night.
“If music be the food of love”, to start,
A small band of players take many parts
in this tale of mistaken identity.
Unrequited love, drunken jollity,
Live music, yellow stockings and a fight
Make for the most entertaining of nights.
There’s pathos too, and joy and sadness
And moments to fill the heart with gladness.
Join Jenny Wren Productions for some fun in the open-air, under “the glorious sun”.
Expect fast-paced drama, endless costume changes and much music and merriment as our four fearless actors present Shakespeare’s classic tale of love and disguise.
When shipwrecked Viola assumes the guise of a man in the court of the lovelorn Duke Orsino, delightful mayhem ensues and our players are soon entangled in a maze of mistaken identities and passion.
Suitable for all the family, this is family-friendly fun delivered with plenty of mischief and hilarity.
All performances, unless otherwise stated, take place in the open air, so please bring warm clothing and a blanket or chair to sit on.
