★★★★☆ Gok Wan as the Fairy Gokmother is very much within his comfort zone, effectively recreating his TV fashion makeover shows as he transforms Cinderella into a ‘Girlfriend’ fit for a Prince. He and Brian Conley have a good chemistry and the occasional, sometimes scripted, give and take is always good natured.

★★★★★ Of all the great classical ballets, Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake has an unrivalled iconic status. The picture of a row of perfectly symmetrical ballerinas, all in white tutus and with arms a-fluttering, is the most familiar image we have of ballet.

★★★★☆ The plot follows the trajectory of the musicians as they form/dissolve one group after another – The Varietones, The Four Lovers – before they eventually, with the addition of the extremely talented songwriter/keyboardist, Bob Gaudio, adopt the name of the bowling alley they fail an audition in.
