CAT THE PLAY brings comedy drama with a dark twist to Bath’s Ustinov Studio in the 2025 Visiting Company Season
CAT The Play starring Richard Kieswick is set to appear at the Ustinov Studio at the Theatre Royal Bath from Thursday 9th to Saturday 11th January as the 2025 Visiting Company Season opens. Featuring never before heard original songs and far too much lycra, this riotous comedy drama with a dark twist is recommended for audiences over the age of 16.
Dave’s dream is to star in an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. Despite his talent, he is constantly cut at the last minute, denying the world the opportunity to see Evita’s Llama or his show-stopping number as Jesus’s Donkey.
Eventually Andrew writes his greatest show with Dave as his leading man, yet a secretive relationship with the beautiful White Cat threatens everything. When opening night finally arrives, a series of inexplicable events rocks Dave to the core, forcing him onto an unexpected and destructive path, a blow he has never quite recovered from.
Written by Richard Kieswick and Jamie Beamish, and first performed to packed houses at the Edinburgh Fringe, CAT The Play has enjoyed success in the UK, Ireland and Germany, broken box office records on the London Fringe and sold out on every return visit to Edinburgh. Described by Elaine Paige on her BBC Radio 2 show as “an absolute riot!”, CAT The Play made its West End debut in 2017 at London’s Ambassador’s Theatre to critical and popular acclaim. Prepare to be entertained and shocked in equal measure as CAT The Play unfolds on stage with unexpected twists and turns.
CAT The Play appears at the Ustinov Studio from Thursday 9th to Saturday 11th January.
